“An Injury to One Is An Injury to All”

Humbled to be endorsed by former Kaua’i County Council Member and Vice Chair, Fireman and Community Leader, Mason Chock

“Fern’s passion and knowledge on environmental issues is needed for a balanced council”

- Mason Chock

Humbled to be endorsed by former Mayor and council member JoAnn Yukimura.

“Fern Holland is a new face on the Council scene, but she is not new to working on community issues. She has lobbied actively before the Council and State Legislature against pesticides, works tirelessly to promote local agriculture as the president of the board for Kauaʻi Food Hub and is one of the leaders in the group promoting a community-centered vision for the lands at Coco Palms. Intelligent, articulate and armed with a bachelors degree in Science, she has the capacity to understand the complex issues facing Kauaʻi.

What I like most of all about Fern is her humility, empathy and openness to learning. She will bring fresh new energy and perspective to the County Council.”

- JoAnn Yukimura

Fern is honored to be endorsed Dr. Mehana Blaich Vaughan, Associate Professor professor at UH and author of Kaiāulu: Gathering Tides.

“Fern is strong, kind and loves Kauaʻi. She works hard, takes time to gather and share quality information on key issues, to inform pono decisions for our island community.”

- Dr. Mehana Blaich Vaughan

The couple worked with Fern on the Hanapepe Massacre and Filipino strike research that led to the location of the strikers mass grave and a book they are working on together

“We are voting for and endorsing Fern Anuenue Holland because Kauaʻi needs her on the County Council.  She would be an asset to the council with her experiences as a community organizer and community advocate, and with her educational credentials in environmental science and marine biology.  Fern’s interest in and commitment to affordable housing, food production and security, preservation of historical sites and culture, land management, and management of tourism would greatly benefit the residents of Kauaʻi, given an official island-wide base for her to work from, like the Kauaʻi County Council.”

-Aunty Catherine Lo

Honored to be endorsed by former Kauaʻi Senator and Council Member , Gary Hooser, of Wailua.

“Please join me in supporting and voting for Fern Anuenue Holland for election to the Kaua’i County Council. Fern is smart, hardworking, a good listener, and totally dedicated to making our community and our world a better place. In my over 20 years serving in public office and working daily in the world of policy and politics, I’ve seen many candidates come and go. Fern is a keeper. We need to help her win. When Fern wins, all Hawai’i will win.”

-Gary Hooser

Honored to be endorsed by Librarian and former Kauaʻi County Council member, Lani Kawahara.

"Fern will bring the perspective and energy of a new generation to the Kauaʻi County Council. She will always work for the people, and investigate and advance sustainable and equitable solutions for issues facing our island home."

-Lani Kawahara

Proudly endorsed by Dr Harold Roger Netzer M.D., retired Kauaʻi Dr who served Kauaʻi residents for decades.

“Fern is a “Kauai Girl” born and raised here. She went to Kapaʻa High and is a college graduate. She used this education to connect to people and listen to their concerns and ideas. Her leadership qualities will turn community input into action and results. She will champion any new affordable housing ideas including: rent to buy programs, very low downpayment options for first time home buyers, reasonable anti-speculation measures, truly affordable options and is open to new ideas brought to her.

Fern is very aware of our traffic nightmares and strongly opposes a new hotel at the former Coco Palms site. There are many logical reasons to oppose a rebuilt of a hotel here. If you agree with this, vote her in!”

Dr. Roger Netzer M.D

She is a strong supporter of community based management as a solution. I know Fern as a doer not a talker.”

-Presley Wann

Honored to have the endorsement of Stacy Sproat, of Kalihiwai, who has been a lifelong advocate for Kaua’i, food security and is the director of Waipa Foundation. Mahalo to Stacy and the Sproat ‘ohana for your support.

“Fern is a next generation community leader, born and raised here on Kaua’i and well aware of the issues that face us. Her experience and impressive education and accomplishments outside of Kaua’i contribute to her broad range of knowledge. I appreciate her positive and hiki nō approach, and believe she would be a great addition to the Council.”

-Stacy Sproat

Honored to be endorsed by Teresa Tico, Attorney and Film Producer.

Fern is grateful and humbled to be endorsed by Makana. Makana is an internationally acclaimed Slack Key guitarist, singer, composer, philosopher, activist and one of Hawai'i's cultural ambassadors to the world.

“Living on Kaua’i is not only a privilege- it is a kuleana. Leadership must step up to embrace balancing mechanisms that address the growing inequity of access, livability and living standards, community and land gentrification and the need for generational, Hawai’i value based stewardship. To me, Fern embodies this kind of leadership: she is a pillar of the local community, understands- and lives- the day-to-day challenges of local people, and is willing to speak to abuses of power and privilege with grace and clarity. Access to government for those who need representation most happens when people like Fern are elected. Elect Fern.”

-Makana

Fern took the Hawaii Pledge! @ourhawaii808

Fern pledges to use her office to be an independent voice & advocate for kamaʻāina, & stand against the pay-to-play special interest corruption that has held back progress for the people of Hawaiʻi for too long.

Fern will demonstrate my commitment to the people of Hawaiʻi above all else through these two actions:

1) Turn down political bribes & rejecting all campaign contributions more than $100 from corporate PACs, lobbyists, executives of luxury & out-of-state developers, major landowners, hotel conglomerates, energy monopolies, & military contractors.

2) Boldly champion the following: House Our People, Cut Energy Costs, Mālama ʻĀina
Ensure Fairness, Government for the People, Not Big Corporate Interests 👏🏻💜✔️
